Makaton Level Two Training

This course is open to anyone in KENT, who cares for and/or works directly with, a child or young person with Down’s syndrome. All participants MUST have completed Level One Makaton and have gained the certificate to be able to do this course.

Date: Saturday January 24th

Time: 9:30am - 15:30pm | Arrive at 9:15am

Level 2 is for people who have completed level 1, you will cover Stages 3 and 4 and 1⁄2 of the additional vocabulary (another 125 concepts) , some more theory and consider how it may be implemented in your setting. You will receive a manual that you take home, which costs £21, and it is included in our ticket price. The manual contains course materials, all the signs and symbols you have learned and a certificate, remember to keep your certificates for further training.

The aims of the session are to:

  • Provide a practical introduction to the Makaton Language Programme.

  • Pick up Makaton Level Two

  • Learn a new skill to aid with communication

What to bring: You will need to bring lunch with you, some tea and coffee will be provided.
