The government has published its proposals for reforming SEND support in schools through the Putting Children and Young People First consultation. At 21 Together, we recognise how vital the SEND system is for children and young people with Down’s syndrome, their families, and carers. While the reforms aim to improve inclusion and early support, many questions remain — particularly around access to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and the resources schools will need to deliver meaningful support.

In this blog, we share our first response to the White Paper, outline our key concerns, and provide information on how families and professionals can share their views with the government.

We’re so excited to share our wonderful celebration of World Down’s Syndrome Day 2025! It was a heartfelt celebration of our vibrant community, filled with love, joy, and inspiring stories. A day to honour the incredible individuals with Down’s syndrome, their families, and everyone who supports them. Together, we continue to raise awareness, and support our young people with Down’s syndrome in Kent.

At 21 Together, we are always looking for ways to enhance the lives of children and young people with Down’s syndrome. When the opportunity arose to collaborate with Leeds Castle, it was an exciting prospect that has since blossomed into a wonderful partnership. This partnership focuses on enhancing accessibility and inclusivity at one of the UK's most beloved historic sites.
