SEND Reform: What the Schools White Paper means for children with Down’s syndrome

The government has published its proposals for reforming SEND support in schools through the Putting Children and Young People First consultation. At 21 Together, we recognise how vital the SEND system is for children and young people with Down’s syndrome, their families, and carers. While the reforms aim to improve inclusion and early support, many questions remain — particularly around access to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and the resources schools will need to deliver meaningful support.
