Thank you to our Brave Lego Fundraisers!
On Saturday 27th October, Funding for All hosted a one-of-a-kind challenge in the stunning setting of Rochester Cathedral: a LEGO walk! This unique event brought together local small charities for an afternoon of fundraising, community spirit, and a few nervous laughs.
We were delighted to see Lady Colgrain, Lord-Lieutenant of Kent and Patron of 21 Together, as the special guest. She took time to meet charities and participants, showing great interest in the work being done across Kent. Her support added an extra sparkle to an already special occasion.
The Charity Firewalk company led the challenge with a thorough safety briefing and an empowering session to prepare everyone mentally for the task ahead. As the moment drew closer, the nerves were clear, but our fantastic team embraced the challenge head-on. They all decided to push themselves further by walking back and forth over the LEGO!
There were plenty of fun moments too. One participant pledged to donate £1 for every swear word—finishing with a respectable £3 total—while Tom from HSBC entertained the crowd with a couple of star jumps on the LEGO path. Every crunching sound underfoot made the audience wince, but the cheering and laughter kept spirits high.
By the end, every participant proudly received a LEGO Walk certificate, photos to mark their achievement, and, most importantly, the knowledge that their efforts had made a real difference. Together, we raised just under £2,000—an incredible amount that will go directly to 21 Together to continue offering the services we offer to our community.
It truly was a day of courage, community, and celebration. A huge thank you to everyone who took part, supported, and donated. We can’t wait for the next challenge! There was talk of fire eating !!!
