Empowerment Session - iASK Options for Post 16 transition

Come and join us for our next Empowerment Session.

These are designed to provide you with the knowledge and tools to best support your children and young people. Aimed at those with children of school age and beyond we will have regular speakers to provide expert guidance on various areas of social care and support. Helping you access the support required from 21 Together staff, guest speakers and other parents/carers that may have been there before you!

For this Empowerment session we are delighted to host iASK who will be guiding us through a workshop to help us understand options for post 16 transition.

Overview and Purpose:

Based on the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Code of Practice you will gain an understanding of:

  • Post 16 transition options and the term ‘preparing for adulthood’ and how it starts in year 9

  • Post 16 education and the support that is available in mainstream colleges

  • The transfer of decision-making rights to young people

We are sorry but this course is not suitable for children to attend.

If you are anything like us the lockdown has made us slow down and sometimes we are not as active as we could be!

21 Together are delighted to invite you to a workshop with This Is Us Dance Company.

They will run a 45-minute dance workshop to get your body moving. This session is free and open to anybody who loves or wants to dance and be creative.

Registration is essential and Zoom links will be sent a few days before the workshop.

As parents and carers life is always busy - We rarely have time to focus on ourselves!

21 Together’s Wellbeing Sessions are specifically aimed at those parents / carers / family members who deserve a little time to recharge and regroup. Come and join us for an informal and friendly couple of hours to relax, share ideas and take some time out for yourself. A really open friendly group where you can talk all things DS or alternatively just have a good old chat about anything else.

As always, 21 Together staff will be on hand for advice and support, but now we are online the choice of drinks is up to you!

21 Together is delighted to offer a spa experience with Leigh Taylor from Temple Spa as a fantastic way for you to focus on relaxation and benefit from some 'me time'. Leigh has been a consultant for nearly 8 years and running similar wellness sessions all through the pandemic. Temple Spa is a British brand of professional spa products; with over 100 spas using their products to create the most amazing spa experiences. 

There will be 2 sessions available lasting approximately 30 minutes each. A complimentary selection of skincare and wellness products (suitable for sensitive skin) will be sent to those wishing to take part.  We then get together over zoom and Leigh will lead us through using the products to perform our own relaxing spa treatment.  The sessions and products selected are designed to help relax, unwind and prepare for a good night’s sleep. 

Spa experiences are great fun, informative and it’s an opportunity to try some lovely products with zero pressure to buy. This is not a sales session but purely a chance to relax.

We hope you will join us for an evening of pamper and relaxation.

These sessions are NOT open to children as they are designed to give a quiet and relaxed space for parents and / or carers time for themselves. For support sessions aimed at parents with children at home please see our Play and Stay sessions.

TIME: The event starts a 7pm and there will be social time after the Spa sessions for a catch up and chat. When registering please select which session you wish to attend. Registration is essential as we can only accommodate for 8 people at each session.

Session One: 7-8pm

Session Two: 8-9pm

VENUE: At home!!!

Please be advised that when registering to join the session you will need to agree for 21 Together to send your contact details to Leigh Taylor from Temple Spa so that the complimentary products for the session can be posted directly to you.
