Volunteering
Charity Shop Volunteers
We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to join the team at our new 21 Together charity shop.
Our charity shop will be at the heart of our local community, helping us to raise vital funds to support children and young people with Down’s syndrome across Kent.
As a charity shop volunteer, you will help us create a welcoming environment for our customers while playing an important role in supporting the work of 21 Together.
There are lots of ways you can get involved, including:
Welcoming and chatting with customers
Sorting, preparing and displaying donated items
Keeping the shop tidy, organised and welcoming
Helping with sales and customer service
Preparing items for our online shop and eBay
Photographing and listing items for sale online
Processing donations
Helping to promote the shop and 21 Together within the local community
Working alongside other volunteers and members of the 21 Together team
Our charity shop will also act as an eBay hub, giving volunteers the opportunity to learn about online selling and gain experience in photographing, listing and preparing items for online sale.
No previous retail or eBay experience is necessary. Training and support will be provided.
Volunteering with us is a great opportunity to meet new people, socialise and become part of your local community, while gaining valuable experience and learning new skills.
Most importantly, your time will make a real difference. Every item sold and every hour volunteered helps us raise funds to provide vital support, services and opportunities for children and young people with Down’s syndrome.
Time commitment:
The shop will be open Monday–Saturday, 9:30am–3:00pm.
We are looking for volunteers who can commit to regular shifts where possible, but we would be happy to discuss what availability works for you.
Remuneration
The role of a volunteer is a voluntary position and is therefore not remunerated.
