Picky & Tricky Eating - 2024
Delivered by Dr. Liz Coracoran and Speech and Language Therapist, Colette Lloyd, hosted by 21 Together.
21 Together is excited to share this informative webinar from the dual perspective of Dr. Liz Corcorcan, a functional medicine doctor and the chair of the Down's Syndrome Research Foundation; and Colette Lloyd, a Speech and Language Therapist specialising in Down’s syndrome.
During the webinar, Dr. Corcoran discusses the underlying causes of picky and tricky eating and how a functional medicine approach can help to address them. She provides insight into the role of gut health, nutrient deficiencies, and food sensitivities in feeding difficulties. She offers guidance optimising your child's nutrition to support their growth and development.
Colette Lloyd focusses on the speech and language aspects of feeding challenges and provides practical tips and strategies for promoting oral motor development, improving chewing and swallowing skills, and increasing food variety. She also discusses how to address sensory issues related to food preferences and how to make mealtime a positive and enjoyable experience for both parents and children.
