We’re excited to share that we now have a unit in The Mall Maidstone for our brand-new 21 Together charity shop! We’re hoping to open our doors in early October, creating a welcoming space for the local community while raising vital funds to support the work of 21 Together. We’re really looking forward to seeing the shop become a positive part of the community and bringing people together to support a cause that makes a real difference to families.
Can you volunteer?
Our biggest need right now is volunteers to help us run the shop. We’re looking for people who can spare some time between Monday and Saturday, 9:00am–3:30pm to help with serving customers, sorting donations, keeping the shop looking great and all the other things that go into making a charity shop work. You don’t need any retail experience — just some time, enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved! Whether you can offer a regular few hours or occasional support, we’d love to hear from you. Can you donate?
We’re also grateful for donations to help us stock the shop. We’re looking for good-quality, clean clothing and accessories, household items, small electricals, books, toys and games, and interesting curiosities and collectables. Please don’t donate broken, damaged or stained items, bedding or linens, bulky furniture, safety equipment, DVDs/CDs/VHS tapes or incomplete toys and games. Donations can be dropped off at our Maidstone Community Support Centre. Once we’re open, donations can be dropped off at the Shop!
Can you help us steam ahead? 👕✨
As we get our new charity shop ready to open, we’re looking for a commercial clothes steamer to help us keep donated clothing looking fresh and ready for the rails. If you have a suitable steamer that you’d be able to donate, or know a business that may be willing to support us with one, we’d be incredibly grateful. Every donation helps us get the shop ready to welcome customers!
Could your team lend a hand before we open?
We’re also looking for a small group of up to 5 people to join us for a one-off volunteering day on Monday 28, Tuesday 29 or Wednesday 30 September, helping us sort through donations and get the shop looking its best ready for opening. This could be a great opportunity for a corporate volunteering day, but you don’t need to be part of a company to get involved — groups of friends are very welcome too!
