Understanding Sensory Development and Sensory Processing Difficulties in Down’s Syndrome

A Practical Workshop

Led by Donna Dodd - Paediatric OT and mum to a daughter who has Down’s syndrome.

This course is open to Kent-based parents, carers and professionals supporting children with Down’s syndrome.

Date: Saturday 14th January 2023

Time: 9:00am - 12:30pm

Location: Lydden Village Hall, Lydden, Dover CT15 7EX

Cost: Parents/carers £10; Professionals £40

21 Together hold a strong belief that no family should be denied access to training due to finances. Our Financial Support Policy and application form is available upon request.

Would you like an insight into how it feels to have sensory differences? Join us on our workshop and gain some theory and practical strategies to support your child/young person.

The aims of the session are to:

  • Increase awareness of your child's sensory development and sensory processing difficulties.

  • Identify the impact of sensory differences on everyday life at home and at school.

  • Explore strategies to support children who experience sensory differences - using sensory-motor based interventions, activities, sensory circuits and games.

What to bring: This is a practical workshop so come in comfortable clothes and be prepared to try activities out. A yoga mat and therapy ball would be useful if you have one, but are not essential to complete the training. You will also be emailed handouts prior to the training which we would recommend printing and bringing with you.

We are sorry, but this course cannot be attended by children.
