Impact on Relationships Workshop

  • Maidstone Community Support Centre Marsham Street Maidstone, England, ME14 1HH United Kingdom (map)

A SHORT FACE-TO-FACE WORKSHOP FROM THE EXPERTS IN RELATIONSHIPS:

The impact on relationships for parents of children with special needs

Thanks to Relate Kent and funding from The Cobtree Charity Trust, we are able to offer this exclusive face-to-face workshop for FREE, to six couples supporting a child or young person with Down’s syndrome in Kent.

Course content:

  • How to deal with changes in your relationship brought about by looking after a child with special needs

  • Dealing with conflict

  • Improving communication

  • Managing stress

  • Taking time together

The course has been designed to offer a comfortable, informal learning environment, plus the opportunity to talk openly and share with others the challenges of being parents of children with special needs.  Participants will not be judged, but will be offered support and practical help.  By creating a stronger bond between parents this will enable their child to deal with their issues more effectively and with resilience.

Please note that couples MUST come together in order to complete the session.

Venue: Maidstone Community Support Centre, Marsham Street, Maidstone, ME14 1HH

Date: Thursday 1st December 2022

Time: 10:30am - 2:30pm

Cost: FREE

Due to the small number of spaces available, we would ask that you only sign up if you are confident that both yourself and your partner will be able to attend the session, as we would hate for the opportunity to go to waste.
