We will be joined by Dr Elizabeth Corcoran, Chair of the Down’s Syndrome Research Foundation UK.
Dr Corcoran (nee Elliott), Dr Liz (to her patients) has a passion for empowering people to restore their health through changing how they interact with their world. Through her own and family members’ struggles with health she was led to Functional Medicine. She graduated Royal Free University College London in 2005 and completed MRCPsych training in psychiatry. She has pursued further education with the Institute of Functional Medicine as a means to ‘come alongside’ her patients to help them make changes and improve their health. She also runs the only UK charity focused on medical research helping people with Down’s syndrome and sibling to David, who has DS. She is a steering group member of the Embracing Complexity Coalition and co-lead of an Emerging Minds Special Interest Research Group.
Dr Liz will be giving us a whistle-stop tour of the foundations of good nutrition for children with DS, highlighting common issues that the community face. She will have plenty of time for Q&A at the end- be sure to write any questions you have on our sign-up form below!
